Commentary on the economy, the markets, and business

The important things I'm learning today

"Learning" is probably too strong a word. "Looking at and failing to comprehend" is more like it. There are posters like this all over the conference wing of the Santa Clara Marriott, put up by Ph.D students with fellowships from the Hertz Foundation to explain what they're up to. Bill Gates is supposed to come by a little later and look at them. Maybe he'll do better on the comprehension.

Update: As billmccollam notes in the comments, it actually is a pretty clear presentation, especially when you have Dmitriy Aronov there to explain it to you. Or just read about it in the New York Times.

Well actually I'm impressed that the information is presented as visually as it seems to be. Seems like a much more effective presentation than, for instance, a 20 page article of dense text.
